ABC 7’s Suncoast View recently featured an interview with Adventure For All, starring Manasota BUDS’ own, Joey Baar! Adventure For All is a Suncoast-based non-profit organization that was founded to provide inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental exceptionalities through interactive adventure programs.
Recently, Baar, an adventure athlete and Manasota BUDS extraordinaire, traveled to Lake Placid, NY where he completed a host of rigorous nature-based adventures such as kayaking, fishing, and biking. Leading up to the trip, Joey completed an extensive training program that helped prepare him to thrive in the rugged, mountainous terrain of the Adirondacks. “I got this” was Joey’s motto as he conquered a variety of obstacles, independently. Like the champ that he his, Joey mountain biked some of the range’s most complex trails, and completed long, rigorous hikes. This once in a lifetime trip has helped frame Joey’s next adventurous goal: competing in a bike race. We have no doubt that he’ll conquer that goal in no time. Way to make BUDS proud!
